SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) scored 18 points to lead Shepherd College to a 73-58 win over UDC in women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center.

Shepherd led by only one point (34-33)at halftime, but opened the second half with a 14-0 run to pull away for the win.

Ashana Cowans (Robinson/Fairfax, VA) added 13 points for the Rams, while Makia Staves (Bishop McNamara/Ft. Washington, DC) had 10 points to go along with nine rebounds. Jennifer Westervelt (John Carroll/Bel Air, MD) grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and had six points after being sidelined for the past seven games with an injury.

LaToya Jenkins scored18 points, while Katrina Green and Shamayne Coles each added 16 to lead the Lady Firebirds.

Shepherd improves to 16-5, while UDC falls to 4-19. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
