SHEPHERD FALLS TO UC

CHARLESTON, WV --Lisa Lee scored a game-high 20 points to lead University of Charleston to a 71-43 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC women's basketball action at Charleston on Saturday. The loss snaps a four-game winning streak for the Rams.

Courtney Thomas was also in double figures for the Golden Eagles with 12 points. Jocelyn Heckelmoser added eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) led the Rams with 11 points. Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) recorded a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Ashley van Norden (Hagerstown, MD/ Williamsport HS) dished out a pair of assists for the Rams and became just the fourth player in program history to record 300 assists or more in their career. She currently has 301 career assists.

The Shepherd women fall to 11-7, 7-3 in conference play, while Charleston improves to 12-3, 5-1. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Bluefield State for a 6:00 p.m. conference matchup.
