SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Sarah Batchelder scored a game-high 20 points to lead University of Charleston to a 63-51 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday.
Shepherd shot a paltry 33 percent from the floor, while the Golden Eagles shot 52 percent. Charleston also held a 40-26 rebounding advantage.
Lisa Lee added 15 points and Jennifer Turner had 10 for Charleston (12-5, 8-0). Turner also added a game-high seven assists.
Shepherd (7-10, 4-5) was led by Lindsay Stewart (Hampshire/Romney, WV) and Gaynell Reese (Bedford/Maple Heights, OH) with 10 points. Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) recorded a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with seven points.
The Rams return to action on Thursday when they travel to Bluefield State for a 5:15 p.m. contest
