MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- WVU-Tech had three players in double figures as the Golden Bears handed Shepherd College a 63-55 loss in WVIAC women's basketball action on Thursday night at WVU-Tech.
Darica Reed (18 points), Taria Jordan (17) and Missy Cook (16) led the way for WVU-Tech. The Golden Bears forced 24 Ram turnovers en route to the upset win.
Makia Staves (Bishop McNamara/Ft. Washington, MD) scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Shepherd. Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) added nine points and seven rebounds, while Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) added 10 rebounds.
The Rams fall to 9-5, 5-2 in conference action, while WVU-Tech improves to 5-7, 2-3. Shepherd will continue on the road to face the University of Charleston on Saturday for a 5:15 p.m. contest.
