SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Lindsay Stewart (Hampshire/Romney, WV) scored a career-high 14 points to lead Shepherd College to a 68-57 win over West Virginia State in WVIAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Tuesday night.

Stewart hit on 6-of-9 shots, including a 2-for-4 effort from three-point range. She also recorded four steals, three assists, and three rebounds.

Lena Moore (Newport School (North Carolina A&T/Washington, DC) poured in 13 points, while Cassie Murray (Allegany/ Cumberland, MD) added 12 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Ashley van Norden (Williamsport/Hagerstown, MD) was also in double figures with 10 points.

Natoya Martin led State with 12 points. LaRhonda Garrett posted a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while Doye Byrd added 11 points.

Shepherd improves to 4-6, 1-1 in WVIAC action, while West Virginia State falls to 4-7, 0-3. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Wheeling Jesuit at 2:00 p.m.
