FINDLAY, OH -- Stacey Green scored a game-high 15 points to lead Slippery Rock University to a 50-45 win over Shepherd University at the Towne Place Suites Tip-Off Tournament at the University of Findlay.
Angela Greaser added 11 points and Erin Frankovich grabbed 10 rebounds for The Rock, who rallied from a 27-20 halftime deficit.
Senior guard Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg HS) led the Rams with 12 points. Junior forward LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) added eight points and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds.
Harkins gave the Rams a 45-42 lead on a layup with 3:35 remaining in the game, but Slippery Rock went on an 8-0 run fueled by four points from Green.
Shepherd falls to 0-2, while Slippery Rock improves to 1-1. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they play host Findlay in the consolation game at 1:00 p.m.
