SHEPHERD ROUTS SALEM INTERNATIONAL SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Ashley van Norden (Hagerstown, MD/Williamsport HS) scored 13 points and dished out seven assists to lead Shepherd College to a 78-47 win over Salem International in WVIAC women's basketball action at Shepherd on Thursday night. Ashana Cowans (Fairfax, VA/Robinson HS) added 12 points for the Rams, while Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS), Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS), and Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added 11 points each. Latoya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go along with six points. Keisha Box led Salem International with 13 points and eight rebounds. Shepherd improves to 8-6, 4-2 in conference play, while Salem International falls to 3-9, 2-2. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Fairmont State for a noon conference contest. |
