SHEPHERD DOWNS SALEM INTERNATIONAL

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) scored a team-high 11 points to lead Shepherd to a 51-47 win over Salem International in WVIAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center.

Salem rallied from a 28-18 halftime deficit and held a 44-43 advantage with just under four minutes to play. Shepherd finished the game on an 8-3 run (all free throws) to gain the win.

Gail Siemer (Chesapeake/Severna Park, MD) added eight points for the Rams, while Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) scored seven points to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds.

Kristen Self scored 20 points to lead the Lady Tigers.

The Rams improve to 7-4, 3-1 in conference action, while the Salem International falls to 5-6, 3-1. Shepherd returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Fairmont State for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
