SHEPHERD WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ADDS PAIR

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University head women's basketball coach Jodie Runner has announced that Krissy Grosselin and Amanda Street have signed letters-of-intent to play for the Rams this coming season.

Grosselin, a 5-7 guard from Dayton, Ohio, played at Ramstein American High School in Germany this past season. Last year she led the Lady Royals to their third European D1 championship in the past four years. She was named 1st Team All-European (3 years), All-Conference (4 years), All-Tournament (4 years) and European D1 MVP two years. Not only was Grosselin a key part of her basketball team, but she also helped her cross-country team to a European championship, as well as gaining 1st Team All-Conference and All-European honors. Ramstein High School named her Female Athlete of the Year. The teamıs leading scorer, Grosselin averaged 18.2 points, 4.1 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per contest for the Ramstein Lady Royals.

"Krissy is a great addition to our program," Runner said. "She's a high energy athlete that has tremendous shooting range and plays tenacious defense. We are excited to have her involved in our program for the next four years."

Street, a 5-7 guard from Princeton, West Virginia, played at Princeton Senior High School where she participated in multiple sports. Being a part of a well-balanced team, Street averaged 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals per game. Street's determination and competitive nature make her a great addition for the Rams. She was named 1st Team All-Coalfield Conference (2004) and received both the Heart and Hustle and Most Dedicated Awards for three straight years (2002 2005). Street was also honored by being named to the Scott Brown Memorial All-Star Team in 2005. In addition, she played soccer for two years and was presented the award of Most Goals Scored. As a member of the National Honor Society, Street was awarded the WV Promise Scholarship.

"Amanda is the type of player that every coach enjoys coaching because she possesses all the intangibles that are hard to teach," says Runner. "She has the heart, determination, and drive that will make her successful here at Shepherd and make us a better team."
