SHEPHERD DROPS HOME OPENER TO SHIPPENSBURG
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Jennifer Scaffidi scored a game-high 19 points to lead Shippensburg to a 70-45 win over Shepherd University in women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Tuesday night.
Scaffidi hit on 3-of-5 shots from the floor and drained 13-of-14 shots from the charity stripe. Shanna Oaddams added a double-double with 16 points and game-high 10 rebounds, while Kim Strickland added 14 points and six rebounds.
Junior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) came off the bench to score 15 points in 14 minutes of action to lead the Rams. Senior guard Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg HS) added 11 points and junior forward LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) hauled down a team-high six rebounds.
Shepherd falls to 0-4, while Shippensburg improves to 3-1. The Rams return to action on December 4 when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 2:00 p.m. conference matchup.
