SHIPPENSBURG DOWNS SHEPHERD SHIPPENSBURG, PA -- Emily Swingler scored 20 points and Katie Bray added 19 to lead Shippensburg University to a 78-71 win over Shepherd College in women's basketball action at Shippensburg on Tuesday night. Gaynell Reese (Maple Heights, OH/Bedford HS) came off the bench for Shepherd and scored a team and career-high 19 points on a 7-of-12 shooting effort from the floor. Reese also grabbed seven rebounds. Danielle Murray (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg HS) added a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) was also in double figures with 10 points. Shippensburg also got 11 points from Janet Williams and eight points and a team-high eight rebounds from Jennifer Scaffidi. Shepherd falls to 1-3, while Shippensburg improves to 2-1. The Rams return to action on Friday when they travel to the Catawba Classic to face Virginia Union for a 6:00 p.m. contest. |
