SALEM INTERNATIONAL DOWNS SHEPHERD, 69-58

SALEM, W. Va. -- Kristen Self scored 15 points and Jody Green added 12 to lift Salem International to a 69-58 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC women's basketball action at Salem on Thursday night.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 39-26 halftime advantage as Shepherd hit on only 7-of-22 (.318) first half shots.

Danielle Murray (Martinsburg/ Martinsburg, WV) led the Rams with career-highs of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Cassie Murray (Allegany/ Cumberland, MD) recorded 11 points and nine rebounds, while Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) added nine points and nine boards.

Shepherd falls to 5-8, 2-3 in conference action, while Salem International improves to 4-9, 1-3. The Rams continue on the road to face Fairmont State on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
