SHEPHERD WOMEN HANDLE OHIO VALLEY, 90-59

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Sophomore forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) scored a game-high 15 points to lead Shepherd University to a 90-59 win over Ohio Valley in WVIAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Thursday night.

Harkins hit on 6-of-10 shots from the floor and also dished out a game-high five assists.

Sophomore guard Molly Land (Hope, IN/Hauser HS) added 13 points, while senior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) and junior center Danielle Costello (Middletown, MD/Middletown HS/Frederick CC) each had 12 for the Rams (11-8, 8-4 WVIAC).

Freshman guard Krissy Grosselin (Dayton, OH/Ramstein (Germany) HS) was also in double figures with 10 points. Senior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) hauled down a game-high 14 rebounds.

Natasha Holloway and Candace Gist each had nine points to lead Ohio Valley (9-10, 5-5).

The Rams dominated the boards with a 57-to-28 rebounding advantage.

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Glenville State for a 2:00 p.m. game.
