SHEPHERD RALLIES PAST OHIO VALLEY

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) made her final performance at the Butcher Athletic Center a memorable one as she recorded 20 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, five steals, and two blocked shots to lead Shepherd to an 80-56 win over Ohio Valley in first round action of the WVIAC Women's Basketball Tournament on Monday night at Shepherd.

Shepherd trailed by a many as four points in the first half before rallying to take a 24-22 lead going into intermission.

Murray, who scored 17 of her points in the second half, connected on 8-of-14 shots, including 3-of-5 from three points range.

Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/ Hampshire HS) also had a fine all-around game with 10 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and four steals. Ashana Cowans (Fairfax, VA/Robinson HS) and LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added eight points each.

Latissha Isby scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Ohio Valley.

Shepherd improves to 18-10, while Ohio Valley completes its season at 6-21. Shepherd advances to play West Virginia State, a 76-46 winner over Salem International, in quarterfinal action at the Charleston Civic Center at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
