VIENNA, W.Va. -- Cassie Murray (Allegany/ Cumberland, MD) scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Shepherd College to an 88-84 win over Ohio Valley in WVIAC women's basketball action on Thursday night.
Murray connected on 8-of-18 shots to pace Shepherd (9-11, 6-6). Lindsay Stewart (Hampshire/Romney, WV) added a career-high 21 points, while Lena Moore (Newport School (North Carolina A&T/Washington, DC) had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Gaynell Reese (Bedford/Maple Heights, OH) tallied 11 points and Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) had nine points and tied Murray for game-high rebounding honors with 12 boards. Hamilton also dished out a game-high six assists. Ashana Cowans (Robinson/Fairfax, VA) nearly added a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
Ohio Valley (8-9, 4-5) was led by Latissha Isby with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Lamanda Thomas added 22 points, while Ashley Dunson had 13.
