SHEPHERD REACHES .500 MARK WITH WIN OVER MT. ALOYSIUS

CRESSON, PA -- Shepherd handed Mount Aloysius a 65-48 loss in women's basketball action at Mount Aloysius on Thursday night.

Danielle Murray (Martinsburg, WV/ Martinsburg HS) posted a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds to lead the Rams. Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) scored a team-high 11 points and Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) had 10 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added 10 points, nine boards, three blocks, and three steals.

Holding a slight 23-17 advantage at halftime, Shepherd shot 51.4 % from the floor in the second half and outscored Mount Aloysius 42-31 to gain a 65-48 triumph. The Rams also held a 50-36 rebounding edge.

Alissa Buchanan had a game-high 21 points for Mount Aloysius. Missy Wertz added 10 points, while Lacy Baird had a team-high 10 rebounds to go along with eight points.

Shepherd evens its record at 4-4, while Mount Aloysius falls to 2-8. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to UDC for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
