Cassie Murray reached the 1,000-point mark against Glenville.
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Elise Pettinger hit 1-of-2 free throws with 15 seconds remaining in the game to lift Glenville State College to a 67-66 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC women's basketball action on Thursday night at the Butcher Athletic Center.
Amanda Mortelette scored 18 points and Tracy Wyatt added 16 for Glenville (21-3, 13-2).
Ashana Cowans (Robinson/ Fairfax, VA) scored a game-high 22 points on an 8-of-16 shooting performance for Shepherd (11-14, 8-8). Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) added 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) chipped in with 10 points. Murray became the first junior in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau on a jumper with 5:30 left in the first half. Murray's 1,003 career points place her 11th on the all-time scoring list.
The Rams return to action next Thursday when they host Alderson-Broaddus in the regular season home finale. Tipoff is at 6:00 p.m.
