SEVENTH-RANKED GLENVILLE STATE DOWNS SHEPHERD WOMEN, 88-45

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Casey Taylor scored 16 points and Denae Dobbins added 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead seventh-ranked Glenville State to an 88-45 win over Shepherd University in WVIAC women's basketball action on Saturday at the Butcher Athletic Center.

All five Lady Pioneer starters scored in double figures as Christy Alltop had 13 points, Rachel Redick added 12, while Lauren Strong tossed in 10. Liz Bowers added 13 points off the bench for Glenville State (19-1, 10-1 WVIAC).

Senior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) led the Rams with team-highs of 12 points and six rebounds. Freshman guard Krissy Grosselin (Dayton, OH/Ramstein (Germany) HS) added eight points and five rebounds.

Glenville State limited Shepherd (12-9, 8-5) to a measly 13.3 field goal percentage (4-30) in the first half and held a 44-11 advantage at the break. Glenville held a 47-to-33 rebounding advantage for the game.

The Rams return to action next Saturday when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
