RAMS FALL AT GLENVILLE
GLENVILLE, W.Va. -- Rachel Redick scored a game-high 25 points to lead Glenville State College to a 69-53 win over Shepherd University in WVIAC women's basketball action at Glenville on Saturday night.
Joining Redick in double figures for the Lady Pioneers were Casey Taylor with 12 points and Liz Bowers with 10. Redick had a game-high five steals and tied Christy Alltop for team-high rebounding honors with six.
Senior guard Anna Lashway (Guilford, VT/Brattleboro Union HS) led the Rams with 16 points. She hit on 6-of-11 shots from the floor, including 4-of-5 from three-point range. Junior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added 14 points, six rebounds and four steals. Senior guard Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) grabbed a game-high seven rebounds and had five points in her first start of the season.
Glenville State shot a red-hot 64 percent (16-25) in the first half to open up a 44-26 halftime lead and never looked back. Shepherd outrebounded the Lady Pioneers, 34-30.
Shepherd falls to 8-12 overall, 7-6 in conference action, while Glenville State improves to 14-6, 8-3. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Davis & Elkins for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
