SHEPHERD FALLS TO GLENVILLE

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Rachel Redick scored a game high 25 points to lead Glenville State to a 91-81 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC women's basketball action at Shepherd on Saturday.

Tracy Wyatt added 24 points and a game-high nine assists, while Katie Wimer added 20 points.

Glenville shot 70 percent (21-30) from the floor in the first half to gain a 48-27 halftime edge.

Shepherd rallied from a 27-point deficit early in the second half to cut the lead to seven points at 75-68 at the 5:40 mark on a jumper by Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS). The Rams shot a red hot 69 percent (28-53) in the second half.

Gaynell Reese (Maple Heights, OH/Bedford HS) came off the bench to score a team-high 22 points on an 8-of-9 shooting effort. Stewart added 18 points, all coming in the second half, while Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) added 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Shepherd falls to 13-9, 9-5 in conference play, while Glenville improves to 18-2, 11-0. The Rams return to action next Thursday when they host UDC for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference matchup.
