SHEPHERD KNOCKS OFF GLENVILLE

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) scored a game -high 20 points to lead Shepherd College to a 76-69 overtime win over Glenville State in WVIAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon at the Butcher Athletic Center.

Makia Staves (Bishop McNamara/Ft. Washington, MD) added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Ashana Cowans (Robinson/Fairfax, VA) tossed in 12 points and also had eight rebounds. Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds. Barb Oller (Centreville/Centreville, VA) scored six of her 12 points in the overtime session and recorded a game-high six assists.

Colleen McBrien , who hit a three-pointer at the final moments of regulation to force the extra session, led Glenville with 19 points.

Shepherd improves to 15-5, 11-2 in conference action, while Glenville falls to 16-3, 10-1. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host UDC for a 6:00 p.m. contest at the Butcher Athletic Center.
