SHEPHERD WOMEN TROUNCE DAVIS & ELKINS, 87-54
ELKINS, W.Va. - Freshman guard Krissy Grosselin (Dayton, OH/Ramstein (Germany) HS) scored a game-high 16 points to lead Shepherd University to an 87-54 win over Davis & Elkins College in WVIAC women's basketball action on Saturday at Davis & Elkins.
Sophomore forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) added 12 points and nine rebounds, while freshman guard Amanda Street (Princeton, WV/ Princeton Senior HS) tossed in a career-high 10 points. Senior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) had eight points and eight boards, while junior center Danielle Costello (Middletown, MD/Middletown HS/FCC) contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
Courtney Pawlak had 14 points and Kate Bright added 13 for Davis & Elkins (5-17, 3-11). Nikki Yokum was also in double figures with 10 points.
Shepherd (13-9, 9-5) shot 48.5 percent (32-66) for the game. The Rams committed a season-low seven turnovers and dominated the boards with a 55-to-26 rebounding advantage.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
