ELKINS, WV -- Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) scored a team-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Shepherd College to a 79-68 win over Davis & Elkins in WVIAC women's basketball action at Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Murray connected on 6-of-12 shots, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. She was also 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added 15 points, Gaynell "Nippy" Reese (Maple Heights, OH/Bedford HS) had 13, and LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) recorded a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Morgan Johnson scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Senators. Daya Perkins and Grace Cyphert added 11 points each.

The Rams held only a 37-35 advantage at the break. Shepherd limited the Senators to a 27 percent (10-37) shooting effort in the second half en route to the win. The Rams also dominated the boards with a 50-33 rebounding edge.

Shepherd improves to 15-9, 10-5 in conference play, while Davis & Elkins falls to 8-15, 5-9. The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
