SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Cassie Murray (Allegany/ Cumberland, MD) scored a game-high 14 points to lead Shepherd College to a 59-46 win over Davis & Elkins in WVIAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.
Murray also added eight rebounds, five assists and three steals for Shepherd (10-13, 7-7). Ashana Cowans (Robinson/ Fairfax, VA) added 12 points, while Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) added nine points and seven rebounds. Danielle Murray (Martinsburg/Martinsburg, WV) grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Ashley van Norden (Williamsport/Hagerstown, MD) had six points and a game-high five assists.
Davis & Elkins (5-16, 4-10) was led by Daya Perkins and Morgan Johnson with 11 points each. Johnson and Grace Cyphert tied for team-high rebounding honors with eight boards apiece.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
