SHEPHERD DOWNS DAVIS & ELKINS, 77-63

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Senior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) scored a game-high 20 points to lead Shepherd University to a 77-63 win over Davis & Elkins in WVIAC women's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday.

Landrum hit on 7-of-15 shots from the floor including 2-of-5 from three-point range.

Sophomore forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) recorded a double-double for the Rams with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Molly Land (Hope, IN/Hauser HS) added 11 points, while sophomore guard Tiffany Acker (Mount Solon, VA/Buffalo Gap HS) added nine points and four assists.

Courtney Pawlak scored 18 points and grabbed seven boards to lead Davis & Elkins. Erin Myers added 17 points for the Senators.

The Rams dominated the boards with a 40-27 rebound advantage and hit on 44.4 percent (8-18) of their three-point shots.

Shepherd improves to 3-2, 1-0 in conference action, while Davis & Elkins falls to 1-6, 0-2. The Rams return to action next Saturday when they travel to the West Chester Classic to face Millersville for a 1:00 p.m. game.
