SHEPHERD DOWNS SENATORS

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) scored a game-high 20 points to lead Shepherd College to a 72-61 win over Davis & Elkins in WVIAC women's basketball action at Shepherd on Saturday afternoon.

Murray connected on 8-of-15 shots, including 4-of-8 from three-point range. Murray also tied Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) and Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) for game-high rebounding honors with seven. Her four assists also tied Ashley van Norden (Hagerstown, MD/ Williamsport HS) for game-high honors.

Landrum added 15 points off the bench on a 6-of-8 shooting effort, while LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added 12 points and five rebounds.

Morgan Johnson hit on 8-of-10 shots for 16 points to lead the Senators. Daya Perkins (11 points) and Katie Bright (10) were also in double figures for Davis & Elkins.

Shepherd improves to 3-4 overall, 1-0 in conference play, while Davis & Elkins falls to 2-4, 0-2. The Rams return to action on December 18 when they travel to Mt. Aloysius for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
