ELKINS, W.Va. --Katie Bright scored a game-high 19 points to lead Davis & Elkins to a 68-66 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC women's basketball action at Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon.
Grace Cyphert and Morgan Johnson each added 15 points for the Senators. Cyphert grabbed a team-high nine boards and Johnson added eight.
Ashana Cowans (Robinson/Fairfax, VA) and LaToya Fisher (Seneca Valley/Germantown, MD) led the Rams with 12 points each. Fisher also added a game-high 15 rebounds. Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) contributed 11 points with nine coming from three-point range. Ashley van Norden (Williamsporrt/ Hagerstown, MD) added nine points off the bench on a 4-of-8 shooting effort.
Shepherd falls to 1-5, 0-1 in conference play, while Davis & Elkins improves to 1-4, 1-1. The Rams return to action on December 17 when they host Mt. Aloysius for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
