SHEPHERD DOWNS CONCORD, 84-66
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Sophomore guard Tiffany Acker (Mount Solon, VA/ Buffalo Gap HS) scored a game-high 23 points to lead Shepherd University to an 84-66 win over Concord in WVIAC women's basketball action at Shepherd on Saturday.
Acker hit on 9-of-13 shots from the floor, including 3-of-3 from three-point range.
Senior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) added 16 points and nine rebounds, while sophomore guard Rebecca Frece had 11 points and seven boards for the Rams (10-8, 6-4 WVIAC). Junior center Danielle Costello (Middletown, MD/Middletown HS/FCC) scored eight points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds. Molly Land added eight points and a game-high four assists.
Jessica Ferguson scored 21 points to pace Concord (8-9, 3-6). Samm Nester and Becca Flanagan each added 15 points. Flanagan also hauled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Shepherd held a 52-37 advantage at halftime behind a 53.8 percent (21-39) first half field goal percentage. The Rams dominated the boards in the contest with a 52-to-31 advantage.
The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to West Virginia State for a 5:15 p.m. contest.
