SHEPHERD SINKS BLUEFIELD STATE SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) scored 14 points and Lindsay Stewart (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added 13 to lead Shepherd College to a 70-56 win over Bluefield State in WVIAC women's basketball action at Shepherd on Thursday. Murray also added six rebounds and a game-high four assists. LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added nine points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. Gaynell "Nippy" Reese (Maple Heights, OH/Bedford HS) added five points and nine boards, while Danielle Murray (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg HS) came off the bench to add six points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes of action. Meagan Repass scored a game-high 17 points to lead Bluefield State. Stephanie Murnahan added 11 points. The Shepherd women improve to 12-7, 8-3 in conference play, while Bluefield State falls to 4-13, 1-7. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Concord for a 2:00 p.m. conference matchup. |
