ERIE, Pa. -- Bowie State rallied past Shepherd College with a 66-61 victory in women's basketball action in the consolation game of the 2002 Gannon University Avalon Classic.
Allyson Hardy, Kenyail Johnson, Leketia Berry, and Rachill Robinson had 12 points each to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Hardy nearly recorded a triple-double as she added eight rebounds and a game-high nine assists.
Shepherd's Cassie Murray (Allegany/ Cumberland, MD) led all scorers with 15 points. She also tied Bowie State's LeAnn Anderson for game-high rebounding honors with 11 boards. Ashana Cowans (Robinson/Fairfax, VA) and LaToya Fisher (Seneca Valley/Germantown, MD) each added 11 points. Fisher also hauled down nine rebounds. Brianne Hamilton (Goretti/Martinsburg, WV), Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg/Gettysburg, PA), and Casey Landrum (Tabb/Yorktown, VA) chipped in with six points apiece.
Shepherd falls to 0-2 , while Bowie State improves to 1-1. The Rams will return to action on Tuesday night when they host Shippensburg University at 6:00 p.m. at the Butcher Athletic Center.
