SHEPHERD FALLS TO HOST BELLARMINE

LOUISVILLE, KY -- Lyndsey Neal and Shanta Bowens each scored 21 points to lead Bellarmine University to an 86-77 win over Shepherd College in women's basketball action at the Bellarmine University Tournament.

Neal also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the Knights, who shot an impressive 90.9% (30-33) from the free throw line en route to victory.

Ashley van Norden (Hagerstown, MD/ Williamsport HS) led the Ram with 16 points -- fueled by a 5-of-7 shooting performance from three-point range. Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA. Tabb HS) came off the bench to add a career-high 15 points in 24 minutes of action on a 6-of-12 effort from the floor. Anna Lashway (Guilford, VT/Brattleboro Union HS) added 12 points and Danielle Murray (Martinsburg, WV/Martinsburg HS) was also in double figures with 11. Cassie Murray (Cumberland, MD/Allegany HS) hauled down a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with eight points, five steals, and four assists.

Alexis Brown (13 points) and Lynn Thomas (12) also paced the Knight attack. Princess Wimsatt added a game-high nine assists.

Shepherd falls to 0-2, while Bellarmine improves to 2-0. The Rams return to action on Saturday afternoon to face the loser of the Lynn-North Alabama game.
