FISHER, HARKINS EARN WVIAC HONORS
PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Junior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) and freshman forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) of the Shepherd University women's basketball team were recently honored by the West Virginia Conference. Fisher was named an Honorable Mention All-WVIAC selection, while Harkins was named to the WVIAC All-Freshman Team.
Fisher leads the Rams in scoring with a 10.3 average. She is second in rebounding (6.8 rpg) and blocked shots (0.9 bpg). One of the team's top defenders. Fisher also tops the team in steals with a 1.4 average. Fisher leads the Rams with seven double-doubles this season.
Harkins leads the team in rebounding with a 7.8 mark and is third in scoring with an 8.8 average. Her 63 blocked shots this season shattered the old Shepherd single season mark of 39. Her seven blocked shot effort against WVU Tech tied the school single game mark. Her 17-rebound effort against Slippery Rock were the most by a Ram this season. Harkins has posted a pair of double-doubles this year.
