SHEPHERD WOMEN DOWN A-B, 89-66
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Senior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Shepherd University to an 89-66 win over Alderson-Broaddus in WVIAC women's basketball action on Thursday night at Shepherd. The Rams improve to 14-12, 10-7 in conference play, while Alderson-Broaddus drops to 1-22, 1-16.
Senior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) added 14 points for the Rams, while freshman guard Krissy Grosselin (Dayton, OH/Ramstein (Germany) HS) and junior center Danielle Costello (Middletown, MD/Middletown HS/Frederick CC) each had 12. Sophomore guard Rebecca Frece (Springfield, VA/Annandale HS) dished out a game-high seven assists.
Sonya Jones scored a game-high 23 points to lead A-B. Kim Nakamura added 18 points.
Shepherd led 39-32 at the break as Fisher and Landrum combined for 17 first half points.
The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan for a 2:00 p.m. contest in the regular season finale.
