LANDRUM LEADS SHEPHERD PAST ALDERSON-BROADDUS

PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Junior forward Casey Landrum (Yorktown, VA/Tabb HS) scored a game-high 16 points to lead Shepherd University to a 59-48 win over Alderson-Broaddus College in WVIAC women's basketball action at Alderson-Broaddus on Thursday night.

Landrum hit on 7-of-11 field goals and was 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. She also grabbed nine rebounds.

Freshman forward Laura Harkins (York, PA/Spring Grove HS) added eight points and posted game-highs with 12 rebounds and three blocked shots. Senior guard Anna Lashway (Guilford, VT/Brattleboro Union HS) and junior center LaToya Fisher (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) added eight points each.

Lisa Davis scored 11 points to lead the Lady Battlers. Laura Zaukaite added 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Shepherd held a 46-29 rebounding advantage and limited A-B to a paltry 29 percent (18-62) field goal percentage.

Shepherd improves to 10-14 overall, 10-7 in conference play, while Alderson-Broaddus drops to 10-17, 6-11. The Rams continue on the road to face West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday in a 4:00 p.m. contest.
