SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Ashana Cowans (Robinson/ Fairfax, VA) scored a game-high 16 points to lead Shepherd College to an 84-51 win over Alderson-Broaddus in WVIAC women's basketball action on Thursday night at the Butcher Athletic Center.
Cassie Murray (Allegany/Cumberland, MD) added 13 points, six steals, and four rebounds for Shepherd (12-14, 9-8). Danielle Murray (Martinsburg/Martinsburg, WV) posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) dished out a game-high five assists to go along with six points and five rebounds.
Heather McDaniel led Alderson-Broaddus (3-22, 2-15) with 15 points. Kelli Hurst added 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
The Rams returns to action on Saturday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a 2:00 p.m. contest in the regular season finale.
