PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Danielle Murray (Martinsburg/ Martinsburg, WV) scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Shepherd to a 78-74 win over Alderson-Broaddus in WVIAC women's basketball action at Rex Pyles Arena on Monday night.
Murray connected on 8-of-14 shots for her third consecutive double-figure outing. Cassie Murray (Allegany/ Cumberland, MD) added 14 points, while Lena Moore (Newport School (North Carolina A&T)/Washington, DC) came off the bench to post 13 points and six rebounds in 13 minutes of action. Ashley van Norden (Williamsport/Hagerstown, MD) added 12 points and a game-high eight assists. Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) tied Murray for game-high rebounding honors with nine.
Alderson-Broaddus had five players in double figures led by Kelli Hurst's 14 points.
Shepherd improves to 7-8, 4-3 in conference action, while Alderson-Broaddus falls to 2-10, 1-4. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host WVU-Tech. Action will begin at 6:00 p.m.
