SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Ashana Cowans (Robinson/Fairfax, VA) scored 15 points to lead the Rams to an 83-61 win over Alderson-Broaddus in WVIAC women's basketball action on Monday night.
Five other Rams hit for double digits as Gaynell Reese (Bedford/Maple Heights, OH) added 12 points, Cassie Murray (Allegany/ Cumberland, MD) and Carrie Kunkel (Gettysburg/Gettysburg, PA) each had 11, while Brianne Hamilton (St. Maria Goretti/Martinsburg, WV) and Makia Staves (Bishop McNamara/Ft. Washington, MD) added 10 apiece. Gail Siemer (Chesapeake/Severna Park, MD) grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, while Barb Oller (Centreville/Centreville, VA) dished out six assists.
Amber Morrison led Alderson-Broaddus with a game-high 24 points.
The Rams improve to 9-4, 5-1 in conference action, while Alderson-Broaddus falls to 2-10, 1-3. Shepherd returns to action on Thursday to when they travel to WVU-Tech for a 5:15 p.m. contest.
