SHEPHERD VOLLEYBALL KNOCKS OFF WESLEYAN FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University rallied past West Virginia Wesleyan for a 3-2 win in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Tuesday night. The Rams earned a 30-23, 28-30, 21-30, 31-29, 15-9 victory.

Freshman Ashlee Allen (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) had 16 kills and five aces, while junior Kiira Cerasi (Santa Barbara, CA/Bishop Diego Garcia) added 15 kills and 11 digs. Senior Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) recorded a team-high 23 digs.

Freshman Jane Thompson (Cincinnati, OH/ Walnut Hills) had 28 assists and classmate Maggie Hayden (Virginia Beach, VA/Kellam) added 21 assists and seven digs.

Shepherd improves to 8-14, 6-4 WVIAC, while West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 10-10, 6-4. The Rams return to action on Friday when they host Ohio Valley for a 7:00 p.m. conference match.
