WESLEYAN EDGES RAMS

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University dropped a 3-2 (30-25, 30-22, 17-30, 28-30, 10-15) decision to West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Friday night.

Sophomore middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) recorded 26 kills to lead the Rams. Senior middle hitter Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) added 15 kills and eight blocks, while senior outside hitter Megan Bowman (Hagerstown, MD/Williamsport HS) had 10 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) registered 22 digs and eight kills and sophomore outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) tied Hill for team-high digs honors with 22.

Shepherd falls to 14-13 on the year, 11-3 in conference play.
