RAMS FALL AT WVIAC TOURNEY

SUMMERSVILLE, WV -- Shepherd University dropped a 3-1 (30-25, 30-28, 29-31, 30-28) decision to Alderson-Broaddus in quarterfinal action at the WVIAC Volleyball Tournament at Nicholas County High School in Summersville on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) led the Rams with 16 kills. Senior middle hitter Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) added 12 kills, while junior outside hitter Beth Schaible (Winchester, VA/James Wood HS) had 11. Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) registered 10 kills and senior setter Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/ North Hagerstown HS) registered 49 assists. Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) topped the Rams with 26 digs.

Down two games, Shepherd rallied from a 28-22 deficit to take a 31-29 win in game three. The Battlers held off Shepherd for a 30-28 win in game four for the victory.

Shepherd completes its season at 22-16, while Alderson-Broaddus (18-11) advances to semifinal action on Saturday.
