SHEPHERD ADVANCES AT WVIAC TOURNEY

SUMMERSVILLE, WV -- Shepherd University handed Glenville State College a 3-0 (30-17, 30-25, 30-20) loss at the WVIAC Volleyball Tournament at Nicholas County High School in Summersville.

Senior outside hitter Megan Bowman (Hagerstown, MD/Williamsport HS) led the Rams with 11 kills and 10 digs. Senior middle hitter Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) had nine kills, while junior middle hitter Aubrey Pfau (Myerstown, MD/ Middletown HS) and sophomore middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) added eight kills each. Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) registered seven kills and three blocks and senior setter Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/ North Hagerstown HS) contributed 45 assists.

Senior middle hitter Samantha Piectraczak paced the Pioneers with nine kills and four blocks. Junior middle hitter Shana Hairston added a team-high 10 kills.

Shepherd improves to 22-15 on the year, while Glenville State completes its season at 10-26. The Rams return to action on Friday when they face Alderson-Broaddus (17-11), a 3-0 winner over West Liberty in first round action, at noon.
