SHEPHERD WINS PAIR IN CONFERENCE ACTION MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- - Shepherd University won a pair of road matches in WVIAC volleyball action on Saturday. The Rams handed WVU Tech a 3-0 (30-16, 30-8, 30-9) loss and rallied for a 3-2 (28-30, 30-23, 31-33, 30-19, 15-13) win over West Virginia State. Freshman outside hitter Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior HS) had 10 kills, five aces, and two digs in the win over Tech. Junior middle hitter Aubrey Pfau (Myersville, MD/ Middletown HS) recorded a team-high 11 aces to go along with six kills. The Rams set a new team record with 31 aces in the contest. Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) led the Rams against West Virginia State with 21 kills and 19 digs. Senior middle hitter Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) recorded 18 kills and four blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) added 20 digs. Senior outside hitter Megan Bowman (Hagerstown, MD/Williamsport HS) added 12 kills and 18 digs. Senior setter Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/North Hagerstown HS) contributed 60 assists, five aces, and 11 digs. Shepherd move to 12-10 on the year, 9-1 in conference play. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Shippensburg University for a 7:00 p.m. match. |
