STATE DOWNS SHEPHERD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd College dropped a 28-30, 28-30, 30-22, 23-30 decision to West Virginia State in WVIAC volleyball action at Shepherd on Saturday.

The Rams were led by Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) with team-highs of 16 kills and 20 digs. Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) added 14 kills, while Beth Schaible (Winchester, VA/ James Wood HS) had 12 kills and 13 digs. Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) and Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) each added nine kills. Darnley also added 17 digs. Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/North Hagerstown HS) recorded 55 assists and 14 digs.

Shepherd falls to 9-7 overall, 6-2 in conference play. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Wheeling Jesuit for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
