RAMS ADVANCE AT TOURNAMENT CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Shepherd University downed Alderson-Broaddus in four games in WVIAC Volleyball Tournament action at the Charleston Catholic Sports Complex on Thursday afternoon. The Rams took a 30-22, 27-30, 30-17, 30-28 decision. Junior outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) had 11 kills and 14 digs to lead the Rams. Junior outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) added 11 kills, while junior middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) and freshman middle blocker Kori Ford (Fredericksburg, VA/Chancellor HS) had four blocks apiece. Sophomore setter Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior HS) recorded 35 assists and six aces. "I was impressed with the way we competed today," stated head coach Sarah Smith. "A-B eliminated us last year, so this is a big win for our upperclassmen. We look forward to facing Charleston tomorrow." Shepherd improves to 14-18, while Alderson-Broaddus completes its year at 7-23. The Rams return to action on Friday when they face second seeded Charleston for a 7:30 p.m. match. |
