SHEPHERD VOLLEYBALL SPLITS PAIR OF CONFERENCE MATCHES

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University volleyball team split a pair of WVIAC contests at the Butcher Center on Saturday. The Rams handed West Liberty a 30-23, 30-15, 30-13 setback, while dropping a 30-24, 30-17, 30-27 decision to Wheeling Jesuit.

Freshman middle blocker/outside hitter Kori Ford (Fredericksburg, VA/Chancellor HS) recorded 10 kills, while hitting .471 for the match against West Liberty. Ford also added five blocks. Junior middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) added nine kills while posting a .437 attack percentage. She also added four blocks. Junior outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) contributed seven digs, while sophomore setter Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior HS) had 30 assists.

Durbin had 10 kills and attacked at a .500 clip against Wheeling Jesuit. She also added four blocks. Darnley had nine kills and hit .250, while junior defensive specialist Lindsey Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added a team-high 12 digs.

Shepherd moves to 5-12 overall, 3-2 in WVIAC play. The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to Alderson-Broaddus for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
