SHEPHERD TOPS HILLTOPPERS SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Shepherd University defeated West Liberty, 3-0, (30-9, 30-16, 30-9) in WVIAC volleyball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Wednesday night. Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) recorded eight kills and nine digs to lead the Rams. Freshman outside hitter Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area HS) also had eight kills. Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) recorded a team-high 18 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Lindsay Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) added 12 more. Senior setter Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/ North Hagerstown HS) contributed 39 assists and six aces. Shepherd improves to 14-12 overall, 11-2 in WVIAC action. The Rams return to action on Friday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m. in a key WVIAC contest. |
