SHEPHERD GOES 1-1 IN VOLLEYBALL ACTION

WHEELING, W.Va. -- - Shepherd University split a pair of road matches in WVIAC volleyball action on Saturday. The Rams dropped a 3-0 (30-20, 30-12, 30-22) decision to Wheeling Jesuit and came back for 3-0 (30-26, 30-16, 30-17) win over West Liberty.

Sophomore outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) led the Rams against Wheeling Jesuit with six kills and 12 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) added 18 digs, while senior middle hitter Holly Everhart (Purcellville, VA/Loudoun Valley HS) recorded five kills and five blocks.

Hill had 11 kills,16 digs, and four aces in the win over West Liberty. Senior outside hitter Megan Bowman (Hagerstown, MD/Williamsport HS) added nine kills and 13 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Lindsay Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) recorded a team-high 20 digs. Senior setter Nicole Morgan (Maugansville, MD/North Hagerstown HS) contributed 34 assists and 12 digs.

Shepherd move to 8-10 on the year, 5-1 in conference play. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Alderson-Broaddus for a 7:00 p.m. match.
