SHEPHERD VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO WHEELING JESUIT

 

WHEELING, WV -- Wheeling Jesuit handed Shepherd University a 3-1 setback in WVIAC volleyball action at Wheeling on Friday night. The Cardinals took a 30-22, 30-17, 27-30, 30-25 win over the Rams.

Junior outside hitter Taylor Darnley (Yorktown, VA/Grafton HS) recorded a double-double for the Rams with 12 kills and 11 digs. Freshman middle blocker Kori Ford (Fredericksburg, VA/Chancellor HS) added 12 kills, while junior middle hitter Lauren Durbin (Fairplay, MD/Grace Academy) had 10. Junior defensive specialist Lindsey Smith (Romney, WV/Hampshire HS) had a team-high 18 digs and junior outside hitter Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) contributed 13 more. Sophomore setter Kristy Cramer (Fayetteville, PA/Chambersburg Area Senior HS) had 43 assists.

Shepherd drops to 12-18 overall, 9-8 in conference play. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to West Liberty for a noon contest.
