SHEPHERD VOLLEYBALL DOWNS WEST LIBERTY WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Shepherd University defeated West Liberty, 3-1 (30-12, 30-15, 25-30, 30-25), in WVIAC volleyball action at West Liberty on Saturday. The Rams were led by sophomore Kori Ford (Fredericksburg, VA/Chancellor) with 10 kills and freshman Emily McCoy (Great Cacapon, WV/ Berkeley Springs) with nine. Senior Susanna Hill (Clear Spring, MD/Grace Academy) added 14 digs. Freshman Maggie Hayden (Virginia Beach, VA/Kellam) had 25 assists and two aces, while freshman Jane Thompson (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills) added 21 assists and a pair of aces. Shepherd improves to 3-11 overall, 2-1 in WVIAC play, while West Liberty drops to 0-12, 0-3. The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Alderson-Broaddus for a 7:00 p.m. match. |
