SHEPHERD DROPS A PAIR AT CHARLESTON TOURNEY

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Shepherd College dropped a pair of matches in second round action of the University of Charleston Tournament in volleyball action on Saturday in Charleston. The Rams fell to Ashland College 26-30, 20-30, 19-30 and followed with a 30-28, 33-31, 27-30, 23-30, 13-15 loss to Quincy College.

Judy Whims (Thomas Johnson (FCC)/Frederick, MD) had nine kills and six digs and Amber Balmer (Ephrata, PA/Ephrata) added seven kills and five digs in Shepherd's loss to Ashland. Nicole Morgan (North Hagerstown/Maugansville, MD) added 36 assists.

Whims had 17 kills and 13 digs to lead the Rams against Quincy. Danielle Munson (Williamsport/Williamsport, MD) recorded 14 kills and 11 digs, while Kim Pirisino (John Carroll/Edgewood, MD) added 13 kills and 10 digs. Morgan chipped in with 40 assists.

Shepherd falls to 7-5 on the season.
